Enough With PED Users Being Rewarded! Peralta Signs For 4 Years With St. Louis

For those fans that may not think about it very much, every time a PED user is gaining an advantage with the crap they are ingesting or shooting them, they are talking away another guys opportunity to make the big leagues.

The Cardinals signed Jhonny Peralta to a 4 YR/$52 MIL deal yesterday.  I am not certainly not faulting the St. Louis for conducting business the way they have to.  They are just following the rules.

What I am choked about is how an offender of the drug policy, can just resume his career, and double his last contract with no real consequences.

It is absurd on so many levels…

As a guy who played through University baseball, and was looked over to be drafted by all baseball teams back then, I would have loved to have a chance to make the Majors.

Instead, tons of guys passed me on the chain by cheating the game, the players, the owners and the coaches.  It pisses me off.

I have seen how much these drugs can effect a guys performance, but I would never have dreamed to do them, because I remember what happened to former NFL’er Lyle Alzado back in the day.

Sports are never a sure thing, and for every 30 guys that do these damn things, only 1 makes it.  SO you want to risk your long term health for doing them?  Not for me – and I never regret not doing them, because I am healthy today.

It grinds me big time, that these cheaters are taking advantage of the system, and guys that have done it clean, maybe looked over because of inflated numbers.

But it amazing how bad this stuff looks on the game of baseball.  Yes, they have the strongest punishment for testing in the 4 major sports, but at least in the NFL – you can cut a guy if he fails a drug test!

As for the NBA and NHL, don’t really care because I don’t follow the sports.

I seriously think that MLB should adopt a rule for the 2016 CBA.  If you are caught doing PED’s, that you can’t make any more than the league minimum for the rest of your career.

If you have an existing contract, it should nullified and torn up once a guy is found guilty of abusing the policy.

The players should also be fined, with the money going to recover kids in high school, who suffer from health issues stemming from drug abuse like this.

How the suspensions should work

1st offense should be a 162 Game Ban.

2nd offense, you are gone forever.

From the players in the MLB that come from poor nations, why would they not take PED’s, when the risk compared to reward is so great?

So I can sit and blab away for as long as I want, but this will not be approached for a couple of years.

Changes need to be made.

Kids are watching these athletes benefit from cheating.  Alex Rodriguez has made half a billion dollars in his career, and he is an admitted user.

Barry Bonds, Sammy Sosa and Mark McGwire all made a fortune off their cheating days.  I am glad the BBHOF will never allow these guys entrance into the Hall.

But seriously, you think these guys really care, when they are sipping Pina Colada’s in their mansions wherever they live?

Thanks goodness the game has come this far to date, but it HAS A LONG WAY TO GO.
