Daniel Mengden threw a complete game 2 hit shutout, striking out 7 Phillies in the A’s 4-0 final.
Josh Donaldson singled, doubled and homered to help the Blue Jays top Minnesota, 4-3.
Alex Wood shutout the Nationals for 6 innings, whiffing 8 and earning the 7-0 decision for the Dodgers.
Zack Cozart homered twice to lead the Reds past Pittsburgh, 4-2.

Who Owned Baseball September 10, 2017 (Daily #MLB AL/NL Pitcher + Hitter MVP’s) + 2017 #WOB Standings

Stephen Strasburg threw 8 innings of scoreless ball, striking out 10 Phillies to earn the 3-2 decision on the day the Nationals clinched the NL East.
Carson Fulmer struck out 9 Giants in 6 innings, allowing 3 hits and 1 run to earn the 8-1 decision for the White Sox.
Tucker Barnhart reached base 4 times, homering and driving in 5 as the Reds took a 10-5 slugfest with the Mets.
Gary Sanchez for 3 hits, including 2 homers, driving in 5, as the Yankees moved closer to the post season with a 16-7 victory against Texas.

The Mets And White Sox Should Workout A Mega Blockbuster Trade For Chris Sale
The Mets have enough young Starting Pitching talent to acquire Chris Sale. I have gone one step further in propoisng them to add Adam Eaton, Todd Frazier and David Robertson as well. The Mets would not be signing Yoenis Cespedes under this potential deal.

The New York Mets could use a healthy ace pitcher, natural CF, 3B to move David Wright over to 1B, while the White Sox could stand to replenish their squad with a nice lift of young Starting Pitchers.

- Luis Ortiz (TEX, 20 Years Old, RHP): Oritz has been very impressive when he is on the mound. Unfortunately, Ortiz has been very injury prone in his first few seasons of professional baseball. He was drafted 30th overall by the Rangers in 2014. Since being drafted, he has flown through the minors. At the age of 20, he is already in Double-A. He is 4.3 years younger than the average competition in Double-A, so that is very impressive in itself. In 61.1 innings between High-A and Double-A this season, he owns a 3.23 ERA, 61 hits allowed, 56 strikeouts, and only 13 walks. He has a great feel for all of his pitches, which translates to very few walks. Ortiz has the potential to be a 2/3 starter in the Rangers rotation in the near future.

A look into the Red Sox Draft Room. The Red Sox were aggressive in drafting the best talent they could, and trying to get their bonus pool to lineup in order to sign some of this talent, but how much will they be able to actually sign? Some people also say they might have reached on 1st pick Trey Ball as he was considered by many as more of a middle 1st round talent, but if you believe in a player you have to take him where you are. There is no trading draft picks like in other sports. I think their best pick was Jon Denney, but they really did have a great all-around draft in my opinion.

The First-Year Player Draft in the MLB (also known as the “Rule 4 Draft”) can make or break organizations. Drafting well will provide sustainability for even the smallest market teams, but drafting poorly could leave any team in a drought of epic proportions.
The Red Sox have had some good and some bad picks in recent drafts, but the 2011 draft was the end of the draft as we previously knew it. 2012 was the 1st year of a new draft system.
So before I get into the 2013 draft I want to talk a little about the Red Sox 2012 draft because not only is that draft over, but the signing period is over and the prospects are all in the Minors developing, so you can see a team’s strategy and how is working out so far.
I won’t get too into the rules of the new system because that could warrant a whole article itself, but feel free to ask any questions about it that you have and I will answer. I’m easy to get a hold of via twitter usually.
