Predicting the 2022 MLB Division and Wild Card Winners | Chapter 23

Albert Pujols: Set to Return to the Cardinals in 2023?
As we are in last 3 of weeks of the MLB season, a thought occurred to me. Albert Pujols is reborn. He has gone back in time and recreated himself into the masher that he was once upon a time earlier in his Cardinals career.
Are we really sure that he will call it quits at the end of the season? Regardless of how far the St. Louis Cardinals advance in the 2022 MLB playoffs (they are legitimate World Series contenders), Pujols must be rethinking his plan to retire this year.
At the start of the year, reaching 700 home runs was but a pipe dream for Albert. But it is almost in his grasp. At 697, he will surely hit at least 3 more home runs this year (barring a slump or injury). And this is not a case of Albert Pujols being a one-dimensional player at the tail end of his career. He has been an overall very consistent hitter, especially in the 2nd half of the year. By discovering the fountain of youth, Pujols has to be asking himself if he has at least one more year in him.
The St. Louis Cardinals will certainly want him back in 2023. St. louis fans, as well as all MLB fans want to see him return. The money will be available. So the questions will be: Does Albert Pujols still have more in the tank after this year? Does he really want it? Or is he done no matter what in his mind?
The Vegas money- the smart money, is that Albert Pujols will be retiring on top of his game this year. One of only a handful of players that finished off their careers with such strong rebound numbers. Cooperstown is waiting for Albert Pujols whenever he is ready to hang up his cleats. If this is indeed his swansong, do yourself a favor. Make sure to catch as many St. Louis Cardinals games as you can as the MLB season wraps up. To watch Albert hit the magical 700th home run of his incredible career. For all of his big moments, including those of his Cardinals’ teammates. And just for fun, go back and watch that monster home run he hit against Brad Lidge many moons ago. That will always be in my mind the greatest Albert Pujols baseball moment ever.
MLB DFS Picks For DraftKings 4/26/21

DraftKings has an awesome new game option called “Tiers”, It lets you select all your players without any salary cap per position all. Instead, you pick one batter from 6 different boxes to choose from – in which 4 – 9 players appear per tier. This is a great new contest selection for those who hate having to value shop 2 pitchers and all positions from 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, C and 3 OF positions.
Here is the strategy we are using for gameplay every niight. The reason why we wheel all of our players with the other players in our lists is to maximize our chance to win a GPP.
We pick two players on every single ticket and then wheel the other four tiers with 2 players we like each. We designate one player we like the best as the home team and the 2nd seed goes as the visitor.
We play all the contests that have 20 roster limits. Obviously we don’t go crazy because we are playing so many different combinations. If we go for $2 – 5 value each per roster, we will play $32 – $80 a night.
Here are the contests we like playing. All of them are MLB Tiers
Dimetime contest. 20 rosters x $0.10 = ($2.00) – we will enter 2 – 3 tournaments
Quarter Jukebox. 20 Rosters x $0.25 = ($5.00)

Paul Goldschmidt reached base 4 times, with a homer, powering the Cardinals to the NL Central title by pounding the Cubs, 9-0.
Lance Lynn pitched into the 8th, striking out 10 Yankees over 7 1/3 innings, allowing 2 hits and 1 run for the Rangers 6-1 victory.
George Springer went 4 for 4 with a homer, driving in 2 and scoring 3, as the Astros finished the season topping the Angels, 8-5.
Earning 1/2 WOBs:
Brad Miller homered twice and added 2 more hits but the Phillies were edged by Miami, 4-3.
Martín Pérez pitched into the 6th, throwing 5 2/3 innings, allowing 3 hits. The Twins bullpen would blow the lead and the 5-4 game in Kansas City.
Mike Thaiss went 3 for 4 with 2 homers but the Angels dropped the 8-5 game to Houston.

Sean Manaea allowed 1 run over 6 innings, walking none and striking out 5 Mariners to earn the 3-1 decision for the A’s.
Pablo Reyes went 3 for 4 with 2 runs scored and 2 RBI as the Pirates topped the Cubs, 9-5.
Jordan Yamamoto struck out 10 Mets over 6 innings of 1 hit shutout ball, setting up Miami’s 4-2 come from behind victory.
Earning 1/2 WOBs:
Aristedes Aquino homered and added 2 more hits but the Reds could not stop the scorching hot Brewers, 5-3.
Félix Hernández overcame a shaky start to pitch into the 6th and give Seattle fans one last thrill in the 3-1 loss to the A’s.
Josh Reddick collected 5 hits in the Astros 4-3 extra inning defeat by the Angels.
Zack Wheeler pitched 8 strong innings, striking out 10 Marlins along the way. But he allowed critical home runs late and took the hard lick 4-2 decision for the Mets.
