Is it too early for teams to be panicking? Or are some teams showing their glaring weaknesses early and should be addressed?
In some cases, teams shouldn’t panic.
In others, they should solve a problem before they ferment.
Meanwhile it is The Sunday Request.

Still at Washington State, I wonder if the Marlins will regret dropping 3 games to the Braves to start the year if they finish the season in a tight race. Plus the match up of Harvey and Strasburg make me hopeful for a dynamic NL East for years to come.

It is time for the Sunday Request!
Just in time for the opening of the season, I make my official picks. And remember, my pick for the AL East comes with a gigantic asterisk.
It is the LET’S GET THE SEASON STARTED! episode of The Sully Baseball Daily Podcast.
A New Season of Who Owns Baseball Starts Tonight
A whole new season of WOB (Who Owns Baseball) begins tonight.
As with the two previous seasons, I will select the best AL and NL pitcher and hitter on a winning team and award them with a WOB.
As I adjusted last year, the top performance on a losing team will be awarded a 1/2 WOB at my discretion.
The results will be tabulated here at MLB Reports and the 4 highest totals will win the title of “Owning Baseball.”
Last year Andrew McCutchen, Clayton Kershaw, Felix Hernandez and Mike Trout were the winners. Kind of hard to argue with those results.
Sometimes the results are purely statistical. Other times the WOB will be awarded with some context attached. A 2 hit game off of an elite pitcher is more impressive than a 3 hit game off of a below average pitcher.
I get the sole vote, but if you have any ideas of who should Own Baseball for the day, send it out to either my Twitter feed (@SullyBaseball) or use the hashtag #WOB .
And as always, if you do not like my methodology, please feel free to do your own stat for 162 games.
Let’s get the season started and see who owns baseball for 2015!

The Angels reaction to the Josh Hamilton decision was deplorable. They don’t deserve Mike Trout.
Ervin Santana’s reaction to his positive test made me roll my eyes.

The Royals will take advantage of a mediocre American League. But will they be the so so team of most of last year or the dynamic team of October.
That and I comfort a crying little league player on The Sully Baseball Daily Podcast.

There are many possible World Series match ups. But historical, none will be as unique as a Mariners/Nationals fall classic.
The star power would be off the charts. And we would see a match up unlike anyone since 1980 for one reason, unlike any since 1906 for another and one we have NEVER seen for a third reason.
It is a “Let’s think of October in March” episode of The Sully Baseball Daily Podcast.

I love David Ortiz to death. But has there ever been a player caught in a PED web who has been given a bigger pass than Big Papi? OK, other than Andy Pettitte.
Which makes his rambling and meandering editorial for The Players’ Tribune more aggravating. Just play, be the charming Big Papi and ride off into the sunset! Don’t invite the criticism that you are barely getting to increase.
And maybe more stars who get caught should do what Manny Ramirez did. Accept it and move on.
Meanwhile, I hear from a Twitter follower:
