Josh Bell doubled, tripled and had 2 singles, driving in 2 runs, giving the Pirates a 7-3 victory over the Brewers.

Justin Smoak reached base 4 times, homering twice and driving in 4 runs, as the Blue Jays broke the Red Sox winning streak by beating them 13-7.

Jake Arrieta threw 7 shutout innings, striking out 3, to help the Phillies blank the Marlins, 2-0.

Dallas Keuchel kept the Tigers off the board for 6 innings, scattering 6 hits and a walk, to lead the Astros to a 3-0 win.

Travis Jankowski went 2 for 5 with a homer and 2 RBI but the Cubs topped San Diego in 10 innings, 5-4.

Mookie Betts got on base 4 times, tripled twice, driving in 2 and scoring 2 but the Red Sox saw their 10 game winning streak come to a halt as they fell to Toronto, 13-7.

Wei-Yin Chen struck out 8 Phillies in 6 innings, allowing just 1 run. But that was 1 run too many as the Marlins were shutout, 2-0.

Alex Cobb pitched into the 7th, allowing 2 runs over 6 1/3 innings. But he took the hard luck 5-4 Baltimore loss to Texas.
