Who Owned Baseball July 16, 2017 (Daily #MLB AL/NL Pitcher + Hitter MVP’s) + 2016 #WOB Standings

Daniel Murphy got 3 hits, including 2 homers, driving in 5 runs in the 14-4 Washington slugfest over Cincinnati.

Jose Quintana changed Chicago teams and allowed 3 hits against the Orioles over 7 shutout innings, striking out 12 and earning the 8-0 decision for the Cubs.

Mookie Betts homered, added 2 more hits and drove in 2 and scored 2 as the Red Sox became the first team to shutout the Yankees, 3-0.

David Price struck out 8 Yankees in 8 shutout innings and got the 3-0 win for the Red Sox.

They all owned baseball on July 16, 2017

Milwaukee Brewers History: July 9-18, 1982

This weekend the Milwaukee Brewers honored the 1982 World Series team with special promotions and ceremonies.  I’ve done my fair share of reminiscing of that team over the weekend, and it got me thinking…what exactly were the Brewers up to on these dates in 1982?

I vaguely remembered some of the details from the research for my Brewers book, but started revisiting that specific era (July 14-16, 1982) again to put myself back in the right frame of mind for this blog post.  So here are the details…
