Ty Blach threw 8 shutout innings, out dueled Kershaw and got a hit in the Giants crucial 3-0 win over the Dodgers.
Joey Votto doubled twice and singled, driving in 3, to lead the Reds past the Cubs, 7-4
Collin McHugh took a shutout into the 8th, finishing with 7 2/3 innings, no runs and only one walk as the Astros blanked the Angels, 3-0.
Joey Wendle got 4 hits, driving in 2, including a 10th inning RBI double that put the A’s up for good, 9-8, and eliminated the Mariners from the Wild Card hunt.
They all owned baseball on October 1, 2016.
