Scooter Gennett hit a grand slam and an RBI double, driving in 6 altogether in the Reds 7-2 win over Pittsburgh.

Yonder Alonso reached base 4 times, including a double, driving in 3 and scoring 2 in Cleveland’s 10-1 thrashing of the Cubs.

Caleb Smith pitched into the 7th, finishing with 6 2/3 innings, 1 run and struck out 8 Mets as Miami won, 5-1.

Chris Sale struck out 9 Rays over 7 2/3 innings, earning the 4-2 decision for Boston.

Ian Desmond went 2 for 4 with a homer and 2 RBI but Colorado fell short against the Dodgers, 5-3.

Mark Trumbo collected 4 hits and drove in a run in the Orioles 3-2 loss to the White Sox.

Eric Lauer held the Nationals to 1 run over 6 innings but did not factor into the decision as the Padres lost the walk off 2-1 final.

Kevin Gausman struck out 10 White Sox in 6 1/3 scoreless innings but the Orioles bullpen dropped the 3-2 game to the White Sox.
