Who Owned Baseball April 20, 2017 (Daily #MLB AL/NL Pitcher + Hitter MVP’s) + 2017 #WOB Standings

Chris Sale struck out 13 Blue Jays in 8 shutout innings, allowing only 4 hits. The bullpen blew his lead but the Red Sox took the game in extra innings, 4-1.

Steven Souza Jr. missed the cycle by a single, driving in 3 and scoring 3 as the Rays clobbered the Tigers, 8-1.

Stephen Strasburg struck out 10 Braves in 7 innings, walking 2 and allowing only 2 runs, earning the 3-2 decision for the Nationals.

Maikel Franco reached base 3 times, homered and drove in 2 to lead the Phillies past the Mets, 6-4.

Earning 1/2 WOBs:

Marco Estrada threw 6 shutout innings, striking out 7 Red Sox along the way. He did not get a decision as Toronto fell in extras, 4-1.

Kendrys Morales got two hits including a dramatic 9th inning game tying homer. In the end Toronto came up short against Boston, 4-1.

Scott Feldman pitched 7 strong innings allowing 1 run and no walks. He got no decision as the Reds bullpen dropped the 2-1 game to Baltimore.

Jedd Gyorko got on base 4 times and homered in the Cardinals 7-5 loss to Milwaukee.
