Clayton Kershaw struck out 8 Padres in 7 innings of 2 hit ball allowing one earned run and one unearned run, earning the 14-3 opening day decision for Los Angeles.

Yasmani Grandal clobbered a pair of homers to power the Dodgers in a 14-3 laugher over San Diego.

Dallas Keuchel kept the Mariners off the board over 7 shutout frames, giving up 2 hits and 2 walks and got the Astros a 3-0 win.

Khris Davis slammed 2 homers to lead Oakland past the Angels, 4-2.

Julio Teheran threw 6 shutout innings, striking out 6 Met batters. He did not get a decision and the Braves bullpen imploded in the 6-0 loss.

Ryan Schimpf singled and homered and was the Padres lone highlight in their 14-3 drubbing.

Danny Duffy struck out 8 Twins in 6 innings, allowing 3 hits. The Royals bullpen took the 7-1 defeat.

Rougned Odor hit 2 homers and drove in 4 but the Rangers fell to Cleveland in the 9th, 8-5.
