It is a little early in the winter to predict who will win each League right now, but what we are looking for is value.

In the ‘Junior Circuit’, I hate every odd on the board except for the Minnesota Twins at +1500 and the Rays at +2000.

If you like a team and just have to bet some cabbage down – simply pick any team in the AL to win the World Series, and then if they win the American League Pennant, use the National League team as a hedge bet.

The same theory can be applied to the National League flock of teams.  All of them are better to bet to just win the Fall Classic.

The Miami Marlins have not had both Giancarlo Stanton and Jose Fernandez both in the same lineup for a prolonged time since the 1st half of the 2014 season. In a Division that has 2 weak brothers in the Phillies and Braves, the Fish could sneak into a playoff spot with a great year – and with other teams like Washington, New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Pittsburgh all sliding back a little in 2016.

The only odd I found worth while was the Miami Marlins at +2000.  If the Mets and Nationals have so/so winters, and then drastically underachieve in 2016, while Jose Fernandez win the NL Cy Young, and Giancarlo Stanton wins the NL MVP, Miami could conceivably challenge for the NL East Division.

The rest of the odds from this place are putrid for the League Pennant Winners.  The worst odds on the board are the Dodgers at +250, and any of the clubs at +300.  This includes the Blue Jays, Royals, Mets, Cubs and Nats.  Stay clear from these especially.

Odds To Win The National League in 2016

Los Angeles Dodgers +250

St. Louis Cardinals +450

Pittsburgh Pirates +500

SF Giants +800

San Diego Padres +1500

Miami Marlins +2000

Cincinnati Reds +2500

Milwaukee Brewers +3000

Arizona D’Backs +3000

Atlanta Braves +4000

Colorado Rockies +5500

Philadelphia Phillies +9500

There is only one National League team that represents a better odd to bet on the League Championship Series as opposed to a club winning the World Series. You can always hedge bet for the Fall Classic once your team wins the LCS. It is effectively betting your team to in League Pennant, but at a higher odd than what is presented in this article.
