The playoffs are upon us, and since we had such a great year predicting a lot of stuff, both Chuck Booth and I are putting our postseason prognostications up.
In other blogs we will take a look at the series and everything, but this is just pure bets.
American League
American League Wild Card Game
Oakland -104 @ Kansas City -106 (Jon Lester @ James Shields)
Chuck – Oakland, Hunter, Oakland

The Tigers were a lot of people’s picks to represent the American League in the World Series this year before the season started. These guys were the preseason selections for yours truly and Chuck Booth as well. They have the playoff pedigree, with a balanced hitting attack, and have to cash in this opportunity while they still have Max Scherzer and Victor Martinez on the squad.
Detroit (3) vs Baltimore (2) ALDS
Chuck – Detroit in 5
Hunter – Detroit in 4
Oakland (4) vs LA Angels (1) ALDS
Chuck – Oakland in 5
Hunter – Los Angeles in 5
ALCS
Chuck – Detroit over Oakland in 7
Hunter – Detroit over LAA in 5
National League
Wild Card Game
San Francisco -113 @ PIttsburgh +103 (Madison Bumgarner @ Edinson Volquez)
Chuck – Pittsburgh
Hunter – San Francisco
NLDS(3) STL vs LAD (2)
Chuck – LAD in 5
Hunter – LAD in 4
Other series NLDS
Chuck – WSH over PIT in 4
Hunter – WSH over SF in 4
NLCS
Chuck – LAD over WSH in 7
Hunter – LAD over WSH in 6
For the World Series, both Chuck and I have the matchup of the Dodgers versus the Tigers – and both ending in 7 games.
I have the Dodgers winning for the 1st time since 1988, and Chuck thinks Detroit finally brings home the title to Motown for the 1st time in 30 years.

Clayton Kershaw is the main reason why I am picking the Los Angeles Dodgers to win the World Series. Perhaps having a month off earlier in the year will prove beneficial for the 4 time reigning NL ERA champion. I expect him to put it all together this playoffs. I also think having Zack Greinke coming out of the 2 slot, is resembling what Arizona had with a 1 – 2 punch of Randy Johnson and Curt Schilling from 2001,
