At last, we have the majority of all 30 MLB teams scheduled start times.  The Padres, Indians, White Sox and Astros were the last 4 clubs to join the party.  Yes, I will continue to call franchises out on this aspect.. It costs you people from including your park as part of their road trips when they are trying to finagle the landscape of a trip itinerary for time, and you have yet to put them up before other squads.

Having said that, I have no complaints in how the actual times they put forth on their year calendars.  I was stoked about a month ago, as it looked like I had a perfect storm brewing for a World Record Chase for either my own record (ALL 30 MLB Parks, every pitch of every game, in just 23 days).

What happened after that is the Canadian dollar went from hovering 90 cents versus the American Dollar, all the way to just over 80 cents.  The costs were mounting astronomically for an odyssey that requires special kinds of transportation to break the damn thing.

Secondly, I had horrible news (schedule wise) from the Cubs/Brewers, Rays/Marlins, and Giants/A’s all hosting games in their towns in respective areas, only to not have one scheduled available Doubleheader for all of the ballpark chasers to attend every pitch.  I was frustrated at all concerned, and packed in the thought of trying for either. world record journey in 2015. Ankiel could be used in any bf the Outfield Positions as a PH/defensive replacement even if he is not in the starting lineup, Ankiel would help just about any MLB Team. Ankiel only batted .236/.292/.377 with the Nats in 2 years but was slugging .411 this year 17 XBH (5 HRs, 10-2B and 2 3B ) in just 158 AB. Injuries plagued him from 2009-2010. At age 34, does he have any baseball left?

Injuries has plagued him for the majority of the 2009 – 2010 years. At age 33, does he have any baseball left?  The Astros fans will soon find out.

By Richard Perez (Astros Correspondent visit the StrosBros Website here):

In his tenth overall MLB season, Rick Ankiel is on his fourth MLB team after struggling to stay in the Majors since 2010, being designated as a back-up outfielder with the Royals, Braves, and finally the Nationals. As a Non-Roster Invitee, Ankiel has found a home with the Houston Astros organization.

It seems clear that with his explosion towards the end of Spring Training that he could potentially earn a spot on the Astros 25 Man Roster. More than likely we will see Ankiel be platooning with J.D. Martinez in Left Field, with the former Starting Pitcher taking the Starting job, and having the young and inexperienced Martinez under him and learning from the ten-year veteran, Ankiel.

Last year we all discovered what was the phenomenon of what was the Jose Altuve Movement.  You can check out that article here.  Since that day, the Astros have traded away every semblance of a veteran – and are carrying a salary that is being challenged by the Yankees Taxi Sqaud of players that have come in since the start of the week.

One of the best things to do at Minute Maid Park – and on broadcast via Root Sports, will be to watch the little speedster from Venezuela.  He is 5 Foot 5 – and swings like Jeff Bagwell.  Everything about this man is pure heart, emotion and effort.
