Charlie Morton overcame early trouble to throw 7 innings, allowing 3 runs, striking out 12 Oakland batters and getting the 9-4 victory for Houston.

Jacob deGrom struck out 12 Nationals batters in 7 innings, allowing just 3 runs and earned the 7-5 decision for the Mets.

Kevin Pillar got on base 5 times, homered and scored 3 runs but it wasn’t enough as the Blue Jays lost to the Rays, 7-4.

Ryan Zimmerman homered twice in the Nationals 7-5 defeat by the Mets.

Marcus Stroman pitched into the 8th, struck out 10 Rays and allowed 2 runs in 7 1/3 innings. He did not get the decision as Toronto fell, 7-4.

Robbie Ray struck out 9 Rockies in 6 2/3 innings and giving up 3 runs. He would be the hard luck loser in the Diamondbacks 3-1 loss.
