Okay, so it is time to ask old Saint Nick, for some help for teams in the MLB to have their wishes come true.
New York Yankees:
Can someone please knock some sense into the brass in the Bronx to realize they are the friggin Yanks? Since we can’t bring the “Boss” back to kick some ass, maybe a losing season would force the team to pilfer the payroll, and believe it or not, if Cashman behaves himself before Spring Training, the club could get under the Luxury Tax Threshold this year with a few Trade Deals, and go an attack the 2016 Free Agent core of Jason Heyward, Jordan Zimmermann, David Price and Johnny Cueto…
Would it be too much to ask if the team could just release Alex Rodriguez? There is no way he should hit his 660th HR in Pinstripes. Release him before that day, or way prior, and don’t pay him that dumb $6 MIL Bonus. He ain’t worth it. Also don’t want him passing Lou Gehrig for the RBI list ALL – Time in a New York uniform either.
Do the Worst to First, to Worst to First, and stay away from beer and chicken for yet another year!
Courtesy of Sully Baseball: Can we move Turner Field piece by piece to Tampa Bay? (if not Oakland). If not, I am sure people in Montreal will also have a tough time deciphering Evan Longoria from Eva Longoria.
For the love of Canadian Baseball, may the Jays end the longest MLB Playoff drought, and be the last club to reach the postseason in the post Strike/Lockout ERA.
Also, can the Canadian Dollar please trend back towards even, at not be at 0.85 cents for every US Dollar!
I ask that someone kidnaps Peter Angelos and takes him back to 1997, when he would spend money to contend every season. 2015 may be their last chance to get their licks while Boston and New York regroup, and Tampa Bay is even on a downslide.
Can everyone else just kind of f**k off, and let Max Scherzer sweat it out, and bring him towards the $24 MIL per year AAV the Tigers offered him, so the Motown Boys have a chance to re-sign him?
Someone please translate to Yoenis Cespedes and tell him that he is in a contract year. If he plays awesome it will be “Straight Cash Homie”.
I am also advocating signing Brian Wilson guys. Contrary to popular opinion, he didn’t have a bad second half in 2014, will be a low risk, thanks to the Dodgers eating his dough, and he is yet to yield a run ever in the postseason (18 IP).
Whatever happens, let Phil Coke leave. 2014 was his 1st year ever under a 4.00 ERA or Detroit in 5 years, albeit still at 3.88 – with a 1.534 WHIP. Where is Clu Haywood with his “They haven’t released you yet soundbyte?”
A competitive club for one more year with a chance to make the playoffs again would be wicked.
Hopefully a team official will impose a ban on newly singned Alex Rios‘s “Puma” shoes too.
It would be nice if Edinson Volquez doesn’t revert to his San Diego days.
If it isn’t too much to ask, could Mike Moustakas hit over his weight by ALL – Star Break for once?
After spending all of that dough on Free Agents, health will be a paramount factor in the “Southsiders” quest for glory again. May we ask that the fans come to US Cellular Field to stop an 8 year decline in attendance.
Maybe to let the 500 level ticket holders access to the lower level, and not charge them twice as much for their lowest tier ticket than any other franchise?
Can we get out of Spring Training without a blue chip prospect having a season ending surgery procedure?
See Torii Hunter play the whole year in Minny, meaning the club doesn’t fall out of contention before the Trade Deadline, so the team would consider flipping him to a squad in World Series contention?
Nick Swisher to play well in the 1st few months so a team will be interested in picking him up on the cheap..Why don’t the Tribe and O’s just do a Swisher for Ubaldo Jimenez trade right now – and try helping the guys out with a change of scenery?
Whatever happens in 2015 good or bad, have Josh Hamilton healthy.
To not have 40% of our Starting Pitchers suffer bad injuries.
A financial expert explain to Arte Moreno he should consider going over the Luxury Tax Threshold for one year to take a run at a title? Signing Max Scherzer would allow them to do this. At 17.5% penalty for every dollar spent over $189.0 MIL, it wouldn’t be that much for a 1st time offender.
Nobody should panic about Billy Beane‘s latest overhaul. He traded away players before they started making any money at all, yet alone decent Arbitration bucks.
Need to keep Brett Lawrie upright and on the field.
If the pitchers can all come back healthy, this squad will have tonnes of talent to trade for offense later in the year if they stick around contentions.
Beane should think about dealing for Dioner Navarro from the Jays. Decent Catcher and on last year of contract, so could trade him at Deadline again.
To have a year sewage free at the O.Co.
For Jack Z. to let Franklin Gutierrez walk. That $1 MIL he received for 0 games last year looked really bad, when you factor in the squad was burned by the guy for the previous years.
Would it be too much for the M’s to have a 1B that hit above league average?
Also, they better be doing this anyway, but a team official to check in on Jesus Montero all winter, so he doesn’t eat himself out of the league?
How about not having 64 players on the DL in 2015? That would be a start.
Extending Yu Darvish before he wins a CY Young and garners a $200 MIL payday.
Finding a GM, who may have had a bad meal one day, to take on a trade for Elvis Andrus!
For the Bullpen to justify the half of the teams’ payroll that the GM doled out to shorten the game for the starters.
To not set the record for all time whiffs with the lineup? They may not need air conditioning at Minute Maid Parl with the amount of wood flying through space not hitting baseballs at the dish.
Keep spending money and improving the franchise.
Of Course for Craig Biggio (and/or Jeff Bagwell) make it to the Baseball Hall Of Fame!
