Odds To Win The 2015 MLB World Series

The combatants of the 2014 World Series (KC vs SF) are tied with the Baltimore Orioles for the 6th best odd to win the 2015 title. I like the odd for the Giants, however I hate it for the Royals.

There is no time for resting on the winter hotstove, there is however time to sit back and digest the odds of who is going to win next year’s title.
I was surprised to see that the Royals have been giving such a low odd to go back to the Fall Classic and win. They are tied with the Giants/Orioles for the 6th best odd to win a championship.
Hate those odds, just wait until the season starts if you want those teams.
I couldn’t believe the Cubs were rated so high either. Apparently, the oddsmakers think these guys are going to take a quantum leap – or maybe they like the Back to the Future 2 prognostication of the Cubbies winning the World Series.
Looking at the list, I initially think there is fantastic value in every team 12 – 21, except take out the Marlins, Cubs and Mets out of that lot.

Joe Maddon might very well be the best manager in baseball. He possesses a unique approach to the game, that if had to be categorized, is definitely more national league style than american league. Now that he is the coach of the talented and young Chicago Cubs, the gambling websites have shot them up their favorites rankings. I would not buy the hype this early. Chicago may take tome time to gel, and to be tied for the top half of the favorites is not great value at all. Don’t bet them yet.
The NL Central/AL Central will probably be the biggest divisions up for grabs in 2015. The AL West may butcher each other up.
The Nationals and Dodgers have to be annual favorites to win their respective Divisions, and that is why they own the bragging rights as preseason favorites.
I don’t like the Angels at +900 either. They have struggled in April’s of the last 4 years. An intriguing odd is also the Colorado Rockies being tied with 3 other clubs for the longest odds, at +12500.
If TULO and CARGO could every stay on the field for the whole year, they may put up a streaky October. The value is there. Besides, the squad seems to get off to a great start each campaign – before fizzling out after..
How about the Phillies being the biggest longshot to win the World Series? I wouldn’t take that pick at all, but that is a massive fall from contention in just a few years.
Boston, and Toronto at +2500 have seriously nice value to begin with. The Canadian club is one of those streaky teams that could always go off on a win streak like KC.
The Red Sox may be key players on the Free Agent market, and will at least spend some money this winter. They are never a bad selection as the 15th favorite.
New York is old and in financial hell, but at least they are at +2200, which is a proper market adjustment.
I have to say I like the Brewers and Reds at +3300. Milwaukee led the NL Central for 5 months out of the year, and has a vaunted offense coming back in 2015.
Cincinnati is always dangerous with that pitching, and again, the Central’s are up for grabs in both leagues, but any one of 5 teams could win that division crown next season.
I think my 1st bet this year will be to wager $10 each on the Rockies, Rangers, while plunking down $20 apiece on the Reds, Brewers and Blue Jays.
At this time I would point out, that my 1st selections to win the 2014 Title included the Giants at 25/1, and I won that bet. I also cashed in nice chunk of change by hedge betting on the potential of a $1500 win with the Royals, after pegging them at +5000 and+8000 into the year.
A lot of these totals will be changed once more Free Agents sign. The Cubs at that listed total maybe justified if they sign Lester and Scherzer, or even one of the two.
Unfortunately, the Oscar Taveras tragedy also has to be considered when thinking of the Cardinals roster in 2015. It totally sucks, and it is a young man that was too young to leave this earth.
The Yankees will spend $65 – $70 MIL this winter, but that only may net them enough to compete next year, with many holes to fill, and a bunch of question marks at the pitching staff level, SS and DH.
I would think New York will land one of the top Free Agents Starting Pitchers, a new shortstop, and another big bat for the OF. Once they sign anyone they will become bigger favorites, so the time to bet them would be right, albeit I would still stay clear.
