I am also an NFL fan, and while I love baseball more than life itself, these type of days are rare indeed, where the sport will carry four separate times, in order for all 4 games to be seen.

Now, good luck on all games to be under 3 hours, but it is possible with some of the ace pitchers throwing.

Here is the lineup..

All times EST

Detroit @ Baltimore 12:07 PM (Camden Yards) Justin Verlander vs TBD

San Fran @ Washington 3:07 PM (Nationals Park) Jake Peavy vs Stephen Strasburg

St. Louis @ LA Dodgers 6:37 PM (Dodger Stadium) Adam Wainwright vs Clayton Kershaw

Kansas City @ LA Angles 9:37 (Angel Stadium) Yordano Ventura.  vs Matt Shoemaker

Now I for one, am thinking that the LA traffic will be gridlock with over 100, 000 people clogging up the freeways in Los Angeles on a October Friday night.

Dodger Stadium has the capacity to outdraw every other ballpark in the Majors, with hovering at over 56,000 per game if full. With the game being over tomorrow night early enough at the tail end of rush hour, and a pending Angels game 30 miles down the I-5, the fans should camp out there for the night.

Seriously… You may have to leave 3 hours before you want to get there, to arrive at either of those ballparks.

Looking at this schedule, I am skipping out work tomorrow, and am going to watch all of it.  12 – 15 hours of the very best sport possible.

Guess what… since I live on the West Coast, the games start at 9 AM for me, that is awesome.

The only thinking that the MLB should have done here, is that they should have staggered the Eastern audience and West Audience up.

Angel Stadium is host to the 4th game being played tomorrow, with all East teams being done playing (barring extra innings), and the two clubs, ratings will be pretty bad for this contest. I am still watching.

I would have gone

DET/BAL 12:07 PM

STL/LAD 3:07 PM

SF/WSH 6:07 PM

KC/LAA 9:37 PM

This would have given a ballpark chaser a chance to do a doubleheader in this scenario.  You don’t think that would be something that could sell?  Hell I would do it.

Then again, with the LA/Beltway traffic it would be a stretch.  You have a better chance in Baltimore and Washington, as you could take an Amtrak Train between both cities.

Nope, instead of using my brilliant theory, no Eastern Seaboard team will be playing much past dinner, and they will check out on the West Coast games.

At the end of the day, I don’t mind because I am going to watch all of it at home, while I continue to work on this website.  Just saying MLB, break it up a bit.

I am sure the people who are not baseball fans, that are traveling in Los Angeles, or Washington/Baltimore are going to be thrilled at the decision as well.

There are also 4 games on Monday, but maybe a series will be wrapped in the AL within 3 games Sunday. If not, listen to me MLB, Scatter the Royals and Cards games 7 hours apart, so someone can attempt both games at Busch Stadium and Kauffman.

Maybe I will pretend I can tele-transport to all 4 parks tomorrow, what do you think?

About chuckbooth3023

I played competitive baseball until 18 years old and had offers to play NCAA Division 1 University Baseball at Liberty University. Post-concussion symptoms from previous football and baseball head injuries forced me to retire by age 19. After two nearly made World Record Attempts in 2008, I set a New World Record by visiting all 30 MLB Parks (from 1st to last pitch) in only 24 Calendar Days in the summer 0f 2009. In April of 2012, I established yet another new GWR by visiting all 30 Parks in only 23 Calendar Days! You can see the full schedule at the page of the www.mlbreports.com/gwr-tracker . In 2015, I watched 224 MLB Games, spanning all 30 MLB Parks in 183 Days. Read about that World Record Journey at https://mlbreports.com/183in2015/229sked2015/
