Earning 1/2 WOBs in losing efforts.
Albert Pujols did a little of everything. He singled home a run. He smashed a homer. He started a critical double play. But the Angels bullpen collapsed to the A’s, 3-2, making his contributions all for naught.
Hector Santiago worked calmly through jams and was magnificent for 7 innings, letting up 1 run and walking just 1 Oakland batter. The bullpen would implode, however, and the Angels lost 3-2.
Miguel Montero went 3 for 3 with 3 RBI. That was all the offense the Diamondbacks would get as they fell to the Mets, 7-3.
So let’s update the tally taking into account their heroics last night.
