Justin Verlander is one of about 10 True Pitching Aces in the game right now that are starters. Verlander can throw 100 MPH at any time in the game, plus seems to ramp it up as the game progresses. The 30 Year Old just signed a massive contract extension that runs through 2019. His 7 YR Deal is worth $180 MIL, and there is a Vesting Option for 2020. JV is having his toughest season a pro – with a 10 – 8 record – and a 3.99 ERA in 2013 so far. He is still 134 – 73 (.647) for his career – with a 3.45 ERA. He has a CY Young (2011), and 4 other top 7 CY Young Voting Finishes.  With Scherzer and he anchoring the staff, along with Fielder and Cabrera manning the offense they should dominate the AL Central for a few more years to come.

Coming off of a year in which he hit for the AL Triple Crown, Cabrera just keeps improving his numbers across the board – which is incredible to fathom. He is 3 Slashing .358/.454/1.120 this season, which leads every category in the AL. In his 6 year Tigers career, he is .327/.407/.995 – with 214 HRs and 698 RBI. As of right now, he is signed through the 2015 season by the club. It is crucial this team does its damage with Miggy in Detroit. He has a legitimate shot to take down Hank Aaron’s ALL – Time RBI mark of 2297 (he has 1219 at the age of 30) with some more 150 RBI type of years.

Dave Dombrowski has done spade work in order to have the Tigers be perennial threats in the American League since he has come over.

The team legitimately has a 2 – 3 year window to compete for a championship based on the moves they have done for several years.  But just what is on the horizon for the Tigers?

Prince Fielder was signed to a 9 YR/$214 MIL contract before the start of the 2013 season. He has 3 Slashed .294/.390/.882 for the club – with 47 HRs and 182 RBI in his 974 Detroit AB so far. He is not Slugging as much as his Brewers days, however his OBP is the exact same. Fielder has a chance to have a Hall of Fame Career. If he can bring a World Series to Detroit, he will enhance his standing for the ballot even more.
