NY POST

NY POST

Matt Harvey came through big time for the Mets, erasing a lot of ill will.

David Price LOOKED like an ace until the Royals chip chip chipped away.

And all the while I bet Joe Buck wishes he was in New York and not Chicago.

It is almost late October on The Sully Baseball Daily Podcast!

Matt Harvey, Mike Moustakas, Kelvin Herrera, Daniel Murphy, Troy Tulowitzki, Starlin Castro and Jon Lester all added to their totals of Who Owned October.

Driving past the old Johnny Carson studios, I started thinking about how the consumption of baseball has changed since 1985, 1986 and 1993, the last times the Royals, Mets and Blue Jays won the World Series.

Also I talked about the not exactly eventful Game 1 of the ALCS.

Heeeeeere’s Sully on The Sully Baseball Daily Podcast!

Alcides Escobar, Edinson Volquez and Josh Donaldson all added to their totals of Who Owned October.

I missed the craziness and the controversy that happened at Dodger Stadium with Chase Utley.

Why?

Because I was at my 25th high school reunion.

Afterwards, in the parking lot of my old high school, I tried to piece together what happened at Dodger Stadium through the haze of the social media outrage.

And yes, I wore a Red Sox hat in my senior picture.

The Rangers are a game away from the ALCS? They won a wild 14 inning marathon in Toronto.

Moments after the game ended, I decided to call friend of the Podcast and  Rangers super fan and Dallas sports radio personality Jamie Kelly for her thoughts.

The Pirates won 98 games. Their reward? Jake Arrieta and a one and done Wild Card loss.

If they wanted to avoid that, they could have won 3 more games over the course of the season.

Essentially they lost this game in early April.

Let’s bring on the Division Series on this episode of The Sully Baseball Daily Podcast.

The post season has begun! And with the Yankees out of it, there really is no team I truly dislike in the playoffs.

The Astros could be very dangerous if they win one of two in Kansas City.

I make my predictions and I talk about why I am rooting for the Pirates over the Cubs.

All that and more on this episode of The Sully Baseball Daily Podcast.

Yogi Berra died last night. And unlike most celebrity deaths, the loss of this man affected me.

You will read a lot of funny accounts of his “Yogi-isms” over the next few days. But never forget, there is wisdom in every single Yogi-Ism.

But also remember his legacy in New York baseball. From the 1947 World Series to the 1986 NLCS, Yogi Berra was in uniform for every single great post season moment except 2.

From the Al Giofriddo catch to the Don Larsen perfect Game to the Mazeroski homer to the Miracle Mets winning the World Series to the Chambliss homer to Reggie’s 3 shots in 1977 to Bucky Dent to the 16 inning Mets/Astros marathon, Yogi was there.
It ain’t over until it is over on Episode 1,065 of The Sully Baseball Daily Podcast.

Lots of stuff is happening as baseball hits the home stretch. An all Texas series has playoff implications, the Yankees and Rays played a thriller and the Cespedes/Harper debate is just silly.
