Let’s see owned baseball on May 7, 2019
Earning Full WOBs:
Mike Fiers threw the second no hitter of his career, striking out 6 Reds along the way, for the 2-0 final in Oakland.
Whit Merrifield hit 2 singles, a triple and a grand slam, stealing a base along the way, to help the Royals clobber Houston, 12-2.
Hyun-Jin Ryu was perfect through 5 and tossed a complete game 4 hit shutout, walking none and striking out 6 Braves for the Dodgers 9-0 victory.
Justin Turner launched 3 homers and added a fourth hit, driving in 6 to help the Dodgers blank the Braves, 9-0.
Earning 1/2 WOBs:
Hunter Pence reached base 4 times, including a homer, but the Rangers came up short against the Pirates, 5-4.
Franmil Reyes went 3 for 5 with a homer and 2 RBI in the Padres wild 7-6 loss to the Mets.
Aaron Sanchez threw 7 strong innings, allowing 3 hits and striking out 6 Twins. But his Blue Jays were shutout, 3-0.
Caleb Smith struck out 11 Cubs in 6 2/3 innings, giving up 2 runs. But he was not involved in the decision as Chicago walked off against the Marlins 5-2.

Earning Full WOBs:
Gerrit Cole held a red hot Twins team to 1 hit and no runs over 7, striking out 11 along the way as the Astros won an 11-0 laugher.
Zack Greinke pitched into the 8th, striking out 7 Yankees in 7 2/3 innings, allowing 1 run to earn the 3-1 decision for Arizona.
Franmil Reyes homered twice and doubled, driving in 3, to lead the Padres past Atlanta, 4-3.
Carlos Santana collected 3 hits, including a homer, driving in 2 to help the Indians win in Miami, 7-4.
Earning 1/2 WOBs:
Luis Castillo struck out 7 Mets in 6 2/3 innings, giving up 2 runs. He did not factor into the decision as the Reds dropped the 4-3 game in extra innings.
Adam Eaton went 2 for 5 with a homer but the Nationals came up short against St. Louis, 3-2.
CC Sabathia recorded career strikeout number 3,000 in a game where he pitched into the 6th, giving up only 2 runs. He would be charged with the loss as Arizona topped the Yankees, 3-1.
Gleyber Torres singled, doubled and drove in the Yankees only run in their 3-1 loss in Arizona.

Let’s see owned baseball on April 23, 2019
Earning Full WOBs:
Franmil Reyes hit a pair of homers, driving in 3, to help the Padres double up the Mariners, 6-3.
Luke Voit homered twice and walked as the Yankees held on to beat the Angels, 7-5.
Zack Wheeler not only threw 7 shutout innings, allowing only 5 hits and no walks while striking out 11 Phillies, but he also homered and doubled, totally dominating the 9-0 victory by the Mets.
Earning 1/2 WOBs:
Xander Bogaerts homered twice in the Red Sox opening 7-4 loss to the Tigers. He added an RBI single in the 4-2 nightcap loss.
Jake Newberry came out of the bullpen and threw 3 shutout innings, allowing 2 hits and 1 walk. But the Rays damage was done early and the Royals could not come back in the 5-2 final.
Travis Shaw hit a pair of homers but the Brewers came up short against St. Louis, 4-3.
Trevor Williams threw 7 strong innings, allowing 4 hits and 2 runs, walking 1 and striking out 4 Diamondbacks. He took the hard luck 2-1 decision as the Pirates lost.
