Odds To Win The 2013 World Series As Of Right Now + Playoff Notes Tues Oct.01 (+ Pick Of The Day)

The National League is up for grabs – and I can’t believe that the Reds are +1800 right now to win the World Series. If they win the Wild Card game, the team could be extremely dangerous afterwards. Honestly, the Indians and Rays should not be favored ahead of them. TIP OF THE DAY: Bet $53 on the Reds to win the World Series, for a win of $1007. Then to offset a loss today, wager $70.52 on the Pirates at -133. If the Bucs win, you break even, and if the Cincy club escapes PNC Park, you are alive for your big payday, having bet $123.52, however your payout would still be $1007.

Rays Take Out The Rangers 5 – 2

The Dodgers are favored by the line of -150 in the Series versus the Atlanta Braves, as opposed the Tomahawk Choppers – who are +130. The Los Angeles club is without Matt Kemp, and may also be without Andre Ethier. They will post their 25 Man Roster
The Rays knocked out the Rangers, and in doing so, have secured their 4th trip to the Post Season in the last 6 years.
David Price shook off his demon’s of facing Texas, to through a Complete Game Victory. Now the team is traveling to Cleveland for the Wild Card Game tomorrow.
What a travel the team has gone through since last week. They were in New York Tuesday – Thursday, before heading north to Canada from Friday to Sunday, and then flew home to St. Pete, FLA yesterday, now they have are on the move again to Ohio.
If they win that game, the club will then continue on to Fenway Park. I hope Joe Maddon has prepared many of ‘Road Trip Theme’s” – to keep his club loose.
Today will be the 1st time that Tampa Bay hasn’t played a game since Sept.9th, A stretch of 21 games in a row.

Detroit once held a 8 game lead on the Indians, before they eeked out the AL Central by 1 game over Cleveland. The club was no – hit on the final day of the regular season. Miguel Cabrera is clearly hurt, Jhonny Peralta is just back from suspension, and Justin Verlander has not been his vintage self all year. What is worse is that they have to travel to Oakland 2 times in the series (Games 1, 2 and 5 are in the BAY Area, and now play an 9:00 PM EST Game to accommodate the Raiders at o.co on this Saturday. Detroit is favored to win the Series at -160, to Oakland’s +140. I would bet OAK for the value here. The Tigers has won the previous 2 playoff Series versus Billy Beane’s Boys (2006 ALCS and 2012 ALDS).
