The White Sox have been one of the better clubs in the AL over the last decade, however the 2013 season will see them with their worst record in some time. The franchise is loaded with controllable Starting Pitching, and have started the rebuild for the position players. With playing in the AL central, with only the Tigers having a salary north of $100 MIL, the White Sox have shown they are willing to spend the cash to compete. It probably wont be long before the Southsiders find themselves back near the top of the Division.

Adam Dunn Highlights 2012 _ Mature Lyrics So Parental Guidance Is Advised
Adam Dunn signed a 4 YR/$56 MIL deal prior to the 2011 year. It looked bleak and abysmal after his 1st year, hitting .159 with 11 HRs, yet he was back to his old self in 2012, clubbing 42 HRs and driving in 96 for the team – even with having a .204 Average. In 2013, he started hitting about .100 in the 1st month. His BA last 3 months: June: .274, July: .277 and August .310. Dun has still clubbed 29 HRs and driven in 76 RBI. The behemoth has actually cut down on his SO, and has his best OBP and OPS since joining the AL. Dunn should have a chance to hit 38+ HRs for the 9th time in the last 10 years. The 33 Year Old has $15 MIL left on the books for next year. He could be a great trade chip in the next week, offseason or during the 2014 season .
The White Sox have done a tremendous job withering away at the payroll since the start of the season. Trading away Jake Peavy and Alex Rios has given them great payroll flexibility in going forward.
The big question for 2014 is whether or not that Paul Konerko comes back.
The organization has a plethora of pitching talent on team control. They simply have to add bats and – infuse the Minor Leagues with some more.
Picking up Avisail Garcia is the start of replenishing their OF stock.
Adam Dunn has actually earned his $ over the last few years, but the team could sure benefit if they could find a desperate team to pick up his contract next season via a late August trade.
GM Rich Hahn and President Ken Williams did the right first steps this campaign, and with that great Starting Pitching – that includes Chris Sale, the team could see itself be contenders again really quick.
Paul Konerko is in the last year of his contract. At Age 37 (38 heading into 2014), will he hang it up after this subpar year of .238/.306/.655 with 9 HRs and 46 RBI in 96 Games. Konerko is the active leader for HRs hit for just one team at 424 – and is just. He is just 24 HRs behind all time franchise Leader Frank Thomas. Will Konerko get the chance to catch the ‘Big Hurt”?

Jeff Kleiner: “I have been a sports fan since the first Baseball game I went to at Comisky Park in Chicago in 1959, when baseball for me turned from black and white to color.
I have attended or watched thousands of games, always paying attention to statistics, rosters and salaries of all professional sports.
Luckily I had the advantage of watching WGN TV and seeing hundreds of games in the 60’s. Collecting Baseball Cards and then later dealing them gave me an extra sense of the sport, both good and bad.”
