HIsashi Iwakuma is one of the top pitchers in the American League right now. While he did not win the AL Cy Young, he had to be in the conversation. The sophomore had a 14 – 6 record, a 1.006 WHIP (2nd in AL) and a 2.66 ERA (3rd in the AL). He will start the year on the DL (thanks to a Spring Training mishap on his finger via the pitching net), but once he returns, the Mariners have one of the best 1 – 2 starting tandems in the MLB,

Starting pitcher Hisashi Iwakuma #18 of the Seattle Mariners pitches in the first inning with Peter Bourjos #25 of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim on first base at Safeco Field on April 28, 2013 in Seattle, Washington. The Mariners defeated the Angels 2-1.
