P – Zack Greinke (vs. San Diego Padres): $10,000. Greinke will face the San Diego Padres at their home stadium on Friday. Luckily for Greinke, he has dominated the Padres his entire career and the Padres home park is known as a great pitchers park.

In 136 career at bats against Greinke, the Padres offense is hitting .191 with 36 strikeouts. Greinke should get plenty of run support behind him from the DBacks offense to earn him the win on Friday.

P – Garrett Richards (vs. Minnesota Twins): $9,300. Richards will be facing the struggling offense of the Minnesota Twins on Friday. In his only start against the Twins at their field in his career, he threw 8.2 innings, with 7 strikeouts, and 2 earned runs.

Throughout his entire career, the Twins starting lineup has faced him in 48 at bats, totaling a .167 batting average, and 10 strikeouts.

The Twins are currently ranked as the last team in the Major Leagues when it comes to run production (only 13 runs scored in 2016, compared to the second place team with 20 runs), so this could be a great matchup for Richards.

Evan Gattis Or Jonathan Lucroy Could Be The Houston Astros Answer Behind The Plate

Jonathan Lucroy played like an MVP for the 1st half of the 2014 season, and ended up 4th overall in MVP voting that year, based on 68 Extra Base Hits an .837 OPS. Lucroy has only two years left of Team Control and the club would be in be in prime position to acquire a load of prospects if they were to deal him.

While it is very early in the 2016 season, it is becoming very apparent that the Houston Astros are lacking success at the catcher position. Right now the Houston Astros are carrying two catchers, Jason Castro and Erik Kratz.

Through five games, Castro is hitting .071 and Kratz is hitting .000. Unfortunately, this rough catching production has been a trend over the past two years. In 2014 and 2015, Castro hit .222 and .211 respectively. He has also seen a 63% reduction in his power production from 2013 to 2015.

I will admit that Castro’s defensive ability and leadership in the clubhouse is huge for the Astros’ success, but his offensive struggles are hurting the team.

It could be time for the Houston Astros to start looking for some alternatives behind the plate. Please click the link below to read the rest of the article:

2016 Seasonal/Re-Draft Fantasy Baseball Rankings (Positional and Overall)

Buster Posey just continues to be a masterful hitter at the Catchers position. A lifetime 3 slash of .310/.375/.484 and 3 Silver Sluggers out of the last 4 seasons. He also has appeared in at least 147 Games over the last four campaigns. How long will San Francisco have him as a Backstopper. There is no doubt the club presents its best chance to win when he is behind the plate, with Belt at 1B and a Left Fielder that has better numbers than what the Backup Catcher has had in San Francisco.

I am still working on my new statistic to value pitchers in dynasty leagues, so in the meantime, I will post my personal rankings.

The following rankings are for dynasty leagues.

Dynasty leagues keep the same roster every year following the initial draft.

These leagues place significantly more value on younger players, which is why my rankings may look different from a lot of other fantasy baseball rankings online.
