Travel Tuesdays: The Megabus Tutorial To The $1 Fares

Megabus allows you to switch all itineraries (whether it is one journey or 20, for a $1 fee to trade in for other fares.) I traded 20 trips – not to be used for $20 credit towards a new fare that was a peak trip. It cost me just $3.50 to pull off the maneuver after a small booking fee was added. These guys also don’t require paper tickets (although you can use a computer printout of your reservation).

I owe a lot of my PR campaigning during my entire year long MLB Trip to a man named Kelly Van De Walle. Kelly’s marketing company works for Megabus – and he sought out a partnership for the odyssey after he read a glowing article I wrote towards the Bus Line back in March.
I will continue to promote this entity for my entire life now. This is the way to travel on a tight budget. During my 200 or so journeys with Megabus this season I had many people ask me how I was able to snag the $1 fares – since they don’t seem to ever have them.
So pay attention for the next few sentences because I am going to tell you how I did it. Read the rest of this entry

So some of you have seen me wear this shirt during my trip and I get compliments on it every day.
These shirts are 100 percent cotton and pre-shrunk to make them washer and dryer friendly. They keep you cool in the warmth, and are tough against the cold.
These shirts are only $20 (with free shipping within the USA) and we do offer international shipping for whatever the going rate is extra.
The proceeds will go to the Sports Legacy Institute in Boston, to help with Concussion Awareness, something that is very personal to me having going through my bouts with over the years – and the reason I am on this trip is to heal from my latest one.
Inquiries can be made to Ken@manfishbrewing.com or you can discover more about the shirts at http://www.manfishbrewing.com
We only accept PayPal or money orders at this time. Unless you give me straight cash at one of the games I am at.
They are going fast. . We have M/L/XL/XXL and XXXL available, but do ask my good man Ken Lee what’s in stock.
To donate money to the SLI directly visit sportslegacy.org – and click the donation icon feature.

So how does one prepare for a 21 7game/183 Day trip to all 30 MLB Parks. Well, it is actually going to be another week in driving back through Canada.
Here is what I had to do just to make this venture.
The whole reason why I decided to do this trip was to recover from a bad car accident all the way back from mid 2010.
I was hit and runned by some guy who I still haven’t met.
Luckily I had some witnesses who came to my aid. I also received a payout for the incident. It was never enough, but it got me on the road now.
Going through the 1st two weeks of the year was tough. I have worked too many days in the last few years not to have an impact on my first leg of the trip.
We left off with me taking down my 2nd straight Phillies and Yankees home venues Doubleheaders.
On Apr 13 – i had an am early morning Megabus trip from New York to Philly, before I would later return to downtown Philadelphia to board a bus to Baltimore.
Lots of times in this year long odyssey I will be going back to the home base on Sicklerville, NJ. In order to shower and bring fresh clothes out for the next city Read the rest of this entry
