SECOND CYCLE IN AS MANY DAYS!

SHOHEI HIT THE LIGHTS OUT!
In a night where the lights literally went out in Tampa Bay, Shohei Ohtani provided the electricity with a Cycle, the first one by the Angels since his teammate Mike Trout did so in 2013.

Still no Marlins player has ever hit for the cycle.
Most Recent Cycle Hit For Each MLB Franchise (Updated For Mookie Betts, August 9, 2018 )

Even when the Red Sox lose, they are interesting.
Seems tough to hit for the cycle in a losing cause. The Red Sox winning streak might be over, but don’t blame Mookie Betts, who homered to complete the cycle in the 9th.
His MVP case is getting more and more compelling while the Red Sox hope to start winning again in Baltimore.

Most Recent Cycle Hit For Each MLB Franchise (Updated For Evan Longoria, August 1, 2017 )

Eric Christian Smith, AP
Upon further review… EVAN LONGORIA HAS THE CYCLE!
The Rays are staying in this American League playoff push and Evan Longoria is sparking a unexpectedly hot offense.
If they can keep this hitting up, then who knows? The last Ray to hit for the cycle was B. J. Upton, who is now Melvin Upton, Jr. That was so long ago, he was a different person!

Most Recent Cycle Hit For Each MLB Franchise (Updated For Trea Turner, April 25, 2017 )

Matthew Stockman/Getty Images
Another day, another cycle hit at Coors!
OK, maybe Coors is designed for having guys hit for the Cycle. That isn’t to take away from Trea Turner’s remarkable 7 RBI night for the Nationals. It just seems like they come in bunches at Coors where the thin air allows more homers and the big dimensions to keep balls in the yard lead to triples.
Ah well, why rain on Trea’s parade?
