Adam Rosales was royally jobbed out of a Game – Tying HR in last nights game in Cleveland. The Umpires being incompetent in the MLB has to be rectified – and right now! Since the game last night – casual observers are thinking this sport is a joke, based on a select few brutal umpires such as Angel Hernandez – constantly proving they are horrible game callers.  The MLB never holds their Umpires accountable – and are rarely disciplined.  This has given these maverick officials ‘Carte Blanche’ to continually influence results of baseball games.  It has to stop!!

By Chuck Booth (Lead Baseball Analyst/Website Owner):

Well, the umpires have definitely interjected themselves in the headlines yet again.  Angel Hernandez blew the Adam Rosales HR call not only once, but twice last night.

Instant Replay was supposed to help umpires make correct calls, yet this guy (and 3 other umpires) couldn’t come up with the fact that they blew the call?

The MLB has to realize they are behind the technology curve of the other sports entities (NHL, NBA and NFL) when it comes to using video to help the referees.

Adam Rosales Blown Call:

when there is a goal in question in any of the 30 NHL Arenas, the calls go to this center - where a team of league officials dissect the play from as many camera angles as they could ascertain. Not only has it worked pretty darn good - the referees are not subjected to missing obvious calls like Angel Hernandez did yesterday

The NHL has a war room situated in their head office quarters in Toronto – where League Officials all study the disputed plays – in order to come to a conclusion that looks to be correct.

The MLB should investigate a platform such as this,  to aid them in helping the umpires!  We have to avoid what happened last night be the number one thing the entire media is talking about.  I am so mad about this situation, I will save it for a full article coming soon.

The Los Angeles Angels start today at 11 – 22, having dropped 2 games to the Houston Astros.  This team is having one of the seasons where nothing is going right for them.  Something big has to shake the foundation of the club.  Scioscia may have to go.  Firing another coach on the club is not going to cut it this time.

Here is the good thing, you have a ton of games left versus the AL West teams like the Astros, Mariners and the Athletics.  The key here is to actually win these games.  They are also going to find it tough to compete for a Wild Card spot with the New York Yankees, Boston Red Sox, Baltimore Orioles, Kansas City Royals and perhaps the Tampa Bay Rays.  Time to start winning though boys.

The Dodgers are in need of Zack Greinke to come back from injury – and for Matt Kemp, plus Andre Ethier, to  pick up their bootstraps and hit the way they are capable of.  The are lucky to only be 6.5 GB the Giants right now.

In case anyone hasn’t noticed, the San Diego Padres have gone 11 – 3 in their last 14 games – and now are just 2 games below .500 at 16 – 18.  This is a long way from their 2 – 10 start.  I don’t think they will continue this trend, but kudos to them for at least putting themselves near this mark so far.

At this very moment – the Cleveland Indians have a 9 – 1 lead on the Athletics, and are about to win their 10th game out of 11.  The big reason why is their offense.

Picking up Mark Reynolds, might be the best Free Agent signing over the winter.  Why the Orioles never picked up the Team Option for 2014  is beyond me.  Even at $11 MIL, it was just one year remaining for a guy who clubbed 60 HRs in just 990 AB over 2 years.

Teams like the O’s have to realize they can’t replace guys like this in Free Agency, because you can’t sign FA’s to just one year.  Now their DH position is hitting about .170.  I actually wrote the man down in the early season Payroll I did last October.  11 HRs and 29 RBI is a great start for Reynolds.

The Phillies took two of the 3 from the World Champion Giants in San Francisco this week.  Ryan Howard and Chase Utley are starting to look like them old selves again.  These guys were my sleeper pick for the NL Wild Card.  They will need big help from their supporting cast.

However at 16 – 19 thus far, they are 5 Games Behind struggling Atlanta – and only 3.5 GB the Wild Card Leaders for the 2nd Position.  Maybe having Roy Halladay out will stop the bleeding  of the Starting Rotation.

Kemp has had a real slow start to his year - and it costing the middle of lineup. He has a 3 Slash of .276/.324/.676. He and Ethier have to play to what the back of their bubblegum cards says their normal years are - otherwise the Dodgers will find out that spending $220 MILLION doesn't buy you a playoff spot

About chuckbooth3023

I played competitive baseball until 18 years old and had offers to play NCAA Division 1 University Baseball at Liberty University. Post-concussion symptoms from previous football and baseball head injuries forced me to retire by age 19. After two nearly made World Record Attempts in 2008, I set a New World Record by visiting all 30 MLB Parks (from 1st to last pitch) in only 24 Calendar Days in the summer 0f 2009. In April of 2012, I established yet another new GWR by visiting all 30 Parks in only 23 Calendar Days! You can see the full schedule at the page of the www.mlbreports.com/gwr-tracker . In 2015, I watched 224 MLB Games, spanning all 30 MLB Parks in 183 Days. Read about that World Record Journey at https://mlbreports.com/183in2015/229sked2015/
