Every year we do an article called “Bold Predictions”.  I love this concept as most of these ideas are so preposterous that none of them will actually happen.  I liken it to the “Riverboat Gambler Theory” where you can really get rich quick if it were to come to fruition.

There may not be too many secrets in the National League where the clubs seems to be either really good or really bad.  The American League has a lot more parity.

I suppose I could start off by saying that the NL would win the Interleague series versus the AL, but that it is probably not going to happen based on a 12 year losing streak.

"They Ced I was one of the best pitchers in the game. They Ced my season was over. They Ced it would be a long way back and would be hard, take long hours and give everything I had. And they were right."

“They Ced I was one of the best pitchers in the game. They Ced my season was over. They Ced it would be a long way back and would be hard, take long hard work, long hours of dedication and it wouldn’t be easy.  They Ced I would have to give everything I had. And they were right.”  Jose Fernandez – Photo courtesy of Youtube and the 5 hour energy drink…….He will play a full year in 2016. and that is a bold prediction.

Jose Fernandez and Giancarlo Stanton will be healthy for the whole year.  This is a bold prediction for sure as neither men have played a full season in the Major Leagues yet as teammates.  Although Stanton could be given credit for 150 Games Played in 2011, now he needs to do it again.

None of the National League teams will have wins in the 80’s.  Before you poo-poo that idea.  I think the Marlins and D’Backs are one injury each away from losing at least 83 games.  The Mets, Nats, Cubs, Cards, Giants, Pirates and Dodgers all should win 90+ Games.

The Reds, Rockies, Brewers, Phillies, Braves and Padres should all be locks to have losing seasons.  It wouldn’t shock me if all of them lost 100.

Stephen Strasburg will win the NL Cy Young based on a 20 win season and lead the league in Strikeouts.

Chris Sale will strike out 300 batters for the first time in the American League since Pedro Martinez accomplished the feat in 1999 for the Boston Red Sox.

The Giants will not win the World Series for the first even year of the decade.

Cliff Lee makes a return to the Texas Rangers but the team will not win the West.

The Starting First Baseman to end the Boston Red Sox year of 2016 will be Travis Shaw.

The Toronto Blue Jays will not re-sign either Edwin Encarnacion and Jose Bautista.

A Right Handed Pitcher will start a game for the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Someone cracks 4 Homers in a game, something that has not happened since May of 2012 when Josh Hamilton accomplished the feat.

Ichiro Suzuki will not hit his 3000th base knock with the Marlins.  He will be reunited with the Mariners at the Trade Deadline and do it there.

Billy Hamilton will steal 100 Bases for the 1st time since Vince Coleman thieved 109 bags for the Cardinals.

Alex Rodriguez will pass Babe Ruth by smacking 28 more HRs, and then he won’t ask for his $6 MIL bonus again, and will donate it to charity.

Sonny Gray will be traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers with Billy Burns for a package including Joc Pederson, Yasiel Puig and Julio Urias + more at the Trade Deadline.  The Dodges will lose out in the NLDS to the Cubs though.

The Cubs will break the 108 year curse – and win the World Series in 6 games over the Kansas City Royals.

Giancarlo Stanton will smack 50 HRS for the 1st time in the National League since Prince Fielder bombed 50 in 2007.

The Houston Astros will have 10 guys that Strikeout 100 times or more with George Springer, Evan Gattis, Carlos Gomez, Jason Castro, Carlos Correa, Luis Valbuena, Colby Rasmus, Jake Marisnick, Jon Singleton and Preston Tucker.

The Los Angeles Angels will have the worst record at the ALL – Star Break in the American League.

There will finally be a World Series win posted on the marquee outside Wrigley Field in 2016. They will even be done construction on the renovations before that time frame.
