Yadier Molina went 3 for 4 with a go ahead homer to lead the Cardinals past San Francisco in a possible playoff preview, 4-3.

Stephen Strasburg pitched 7 innings, allowing 2 hits, 1 unearned run and walked none. He got credit for the 4-1 Washington victory in Colorado.

Nick Castellanos hit 2 doubles and 2 homers, driving in 5 runs to help the Tigers top the Cubs, 15-8.

Jesse Chavez pitched 8 strong innings, allowing 2 hits and 2 walks, earning the 5-2 decision as the A’s completed their sweep of the Dodgers.

They all owned baseball on August 19, 2015

Earning 1/2 WOBs on losing efforts.

Kris Bryant reached base 5 times with a homer, 2 runs scored and 2 driven in but the Cubs lost big, 15-8, to Detroit.

Julio Teheran struck out 7 in 6 innings, walking 1 and allowing 1 run on a solo homer. He would not factor into the decision as the Padres beat the Braves, 3-2.

Michael Brantley went 3 for 4 with a double and a run scored in the Indians 6-4 loss in Boston.

Jeff Samardzija threw 7 innings, allowing 1 run and striking out 7. That one run was enough as the Angels topped the White Sox, 1-0.
