Another year, and it is time for all of us experts to predict the future. Keep in mind, that I haven’t seen anyone else do a prediction set like we do. We don’t throw numbers out blindly.
First off, the number of wins allocated must equal 2430 for all 30 teams, and 2430 Losses. If this is not done, you fail.
Secondly. the American League and National League will be a direct palindrome, as whenever a league plays itself, it has just as many losers and winner. Unless the teams go 150 – 150 vs each other in Interleague play, their records will be different. In our predictions, I have the AL winning the series for a 12th straight year.. bringing in a 164 – 136 mark. That is 28 games over .500. AL clubs would then have record that equal 1229 victories versus 1201 defeats,
The National League will have a mark of 1201 – 1229 then.
If your predictions for each of the 6 Divisions don’t have 810 results for their records, you also have done this wrong. Let this be the template for all future predictions checkers.
In the American League, I have no teams registering 90 wins, and only 1 team suffering 90+ losses.
For the National League, I have the Washington Nationals bringing in an MLB best 98 wins, just like they did in 2012. Pittsburgh joins them as the only other MLB franchise to reign in 90 victories.
I have the Phightin Phils being the worst club in the Majors with a 100 losses. I am basing that on the team finally trading any living veteran midway through the year, and then free falling.
The New York Yankees will also suffer their 1st losing season since 1992 if this prediction is accurate.
9 of the 15 AL clubs will be .500 or better, and Minnesota will tally the worst record at 75 – 87, despite improving by 4 wins from 2014.
9 of the 15 NL clubs will be under .500
The best Divisional record will come from the NL Central, and the worst will hail from the National League West.
Seattle would make the playoffs for the 1st time since 2001, and the Blue Jays would see a game beyond 162 for the 1st time since 1993, although their playoff drought will be extended.
There would be 4 Division repeat champions – with only the Mariners and Pirates usurping the Angels and Cards for their respective Division, with the 2014 Division winners still possessing the #1 Wild Card Slots. and then both advancing in tightly contested Wild Card Play in games.
Boston will win game 163 but suffer from burning up their best pitcher for the Wild Card match.
The Pirates win their 1st Division since 1992, but they meet their maker in the Dodgers, with Clayton Kershaw and Zack Greinke buzzing them down.
Read the rest to see what I have forecasted.
