Madison Bumgarner pitched 7 shutout innings and set the San Francisco record for most strikeouts by a left hander in a season as the Giants beat the Dodgers 9-0.

Bud Norris helped the Baltimore pitching domination of the Yankees in a double header sweep with 7 innings, no runs, 3 hits and 10 strikeouts in the second  game’s 5-0 win.

Matt Holliday went 2-4 with a homers, 3 runs batted in and a stolen base as the Cardinals closed in on a playoff spot, 5-1 over the Rockies.

J.D. Martinez homered and tripled, driving in 4 runs as the Tigers beat the Indians, 7-2.

J.A. Happ pitched 7 innings of 2 hit 1 run ball but got the 1-0 loss as Toronto fell to Tampa Bay.

A.J. Pollock went 3-4 with a homer in the Diamondbacks 6-5 loss to the Padres.

Dexter Fowler went 2-4 with a double and an RBI in the Astros 11-3 loss to the Angels.
