Drew Smyly pitched 7 2/3 shutout innings, allowing just 3 hits and struck out 9, earning the 7-0 Rays win in Texas.

Robinson Cano homered, doubled, walked, scored a pair and drove in 2 as the Mariners demolished Toronto, 11-1.

Yovani Gallardo threw 7 strong innings, letting up a single run, 6 hits and no walks, and got the 3-1 decision for the Brewers over the Cubs.

Travis Snider homered twice and doubled, scoring 3 runs while driving in 4 as the Pirates took an 11-6 slugfest against the Tigers.

They owned baseball on Aug 11, 2014.

Earning 1/2 WOBs in losing efforts.

Sonny Gray pitched well over 7 innings, allowing just 2 earned runs, but the A’s would drop the 3-2 game in Kansas City.

Rajai Davis went 3-5 with a double, a stolen base, a run scored and 2 RBI. It wasn’t enough as the Tigers lost to the Pirates, 11-6.

Jake Arrieta pitched into the 8th innings, giving up just 5 hits and 2 runs, but got the hard luck 3-1 Cubs loss to the Brewers.

Matt Holliday got on base 5 times, including a pair of doubles, scoring one and driving in another in the Cardinals 6-5 loss in Miami.
