Who Owned Baseball Yesterday (April.06) – Updated MLB Yearly ‘WOB’ Standings 2014
On a day where many American League aces shone, Chris Sale was magnificent, outdueling James Shields and leading the White Sox to a 5-1 victory over Kansas City. He threw 8 shutout innings, letting up just 4 hits and 1 walk.
Alfredo Simon‘s start since he was on the 2011 Orioles was a gem. He went 7 innings, letting up 4 hits and only 1 walk and 1 run, getting the 2-1 Cincinnati win over the Mets.
Joe Mauer reached base 4 times, going 3-4 with a walk and scored twice as Minnesota topped Cleveland, 10-7.
Hanley Ramirez helped lead the Dodger attack against the Giants with a pair of homers, a double, 3 runs scored and 2 RBI. LA topped their rivals, 6-2.
They owned baseball on April.6, 2014.

Earning 1/2 WOBs in losing efforts...
David Murphy went 4-5 with a pair of doubles but the Indians fell short in Minnesota, 10-7.
James Shields was terrific against the White Sox, going 7 innings letting up just 1 run and walking none. He took the tough luck loss for KC, 5-1.
Brandon Belt went 2-4 and homered again. It wasn’t enough as the Giants lost 6-2 to the Dodgers.
Alex Wood threw 7 innings, letting up just 4 hits and 0 walks. But it wasn’t enough against the Nationals, wjho beat the Braves 2-1.
So let’s update the tally taking into account their heroics last night.
