Odds To Win The 2013 World Series As Of Right Now – Playoff Quick Notes Mon Sept.30

The Red Sox went worst to first in the AL East, and took the best record in the American League to boot along the way. The Boston club now will be able to sit around and watch 2 playoff games, in which their 1st round opponents will throw 1 if not 2 pitchers out of their rotation before heading to Fenway Friday night to start the ALDS series. Boston is the new favorite to win the World Series - as they possess home field advantage all the way through the Post Season, including the World Series - thanks to the AL winning the ALL - Star Game this past summer.

Pirates Celebrate breaking 21 year playoff drought

What a difference a year makes, Liriano looked to be on his last legs in the MLB heading into this campaign. He has put together an ace like season, posting a 16 - 8 record, with a 3.02 ERA in 26 Game Starts this year. The 29 Year Old will take the hill versus Cincinnati on Wednesday at PNC Park, with Johnny Cueto as his adversary. Pittsburgh is playing its first playoff game since Game #7 of the NLCS during the 1992 Playoffs.

The 29 Year Old will take the hill versus Cincinnati on Wednesday at PNC Park, with Johnny Cueto as his adversary. Pittsburgh is playing its first playoff game since Game #7 of the NLCS during the 1992 Playoffs.  The Bucs were the last NL team to qualify for the Post Season after the 1994 Lockout ended the year.  That just leaves the Toronto Blue Jays (1993) and Kansas City )1985) left as teams in the overall MLB – who have not qualified for the playoffs in that time frame.

Well, we are finished for another year for regular season MLB, and we are treated to a playoff game tomorrow at Tropicana Field, with the Rays hosting the Rangers (Price 9 – 8. 3.39 ERA vs Perez 10 – 5, 3.55 ERA), for the right to fly to Cleveland – and play the Indians at Progressive Field in the Wild Card Play in Game on Wednesday.

The Rangers are also eligible to welcome back Nelson Cruz to their lineup, as he has served his 50 game suspension for his part in the Biogenesis scandal.

With securing the best record in the AL, the Red Sox have pole vaulted the field to be the news odds on favorite in the MLB to bring home the World Series Trophy.

Atlanta and Los Angeles will have to play each other, as will Detroit and Oakland as set series.  Of note, lookout for the Tigers on a long layoff to possibly struggle offensively in the series vs Oakland

Having to start on the road at o.co Coliseum is not going to be a picnic for the Motown Boys either,

I like Los Angeles running into the Braves in the 1st round as oppose to the Cardinals.  The Zombie St. Louis club is one of the toughest teams to face this year with all of their playoff pedigree.

This was probably the reason they were overtaken as the favorite from just a few days back by Boston.

I really like both of the Winner of the game tomorrow (Rays or Rangers) and the Reds to win the Wild Card play in games on Tuesday and Wednesday respectively.

The Indians and Pirates will have sit for a day or 2, and are both riding winning streaks.  I just can’t see the Pirates beating the Reds 4 games straight, with sweeping them this past weekend.

The odds for the Johnny Cueto ( 5 – 2, 2.82 ERA) led Reds and the Pirates Francisco Liriano (16 – 8, 3.02 ERA) has the Cincy club at +112 – as oppose to the Bucs -120 line.

This means you would profit $83.33 for the Pirates winning for a $100 bet, and $112 profit on a Reds bet.

The Indians will take a 10 game winning streak into the Post Season, but they mowed up on under .500 clubs, will have 2 days off, and will be ripe for the picking.

Since the Tribe used Ubaldo Jimenez, it looks like they are going to go with Rookie Danny Salazar in the contest.  The Rays would likely go with Alex Cobb, and the Rangers would turn to Alexei Ogando, or even piggyback with Matt Garza if they win tomorrow first.

Check back later in the week for the LDS Previews.  For the record, I say Tampa Bay wins both games on Monday and Wednesday, while the Reds will take down the Pirates.

The Indians will be hosting the Wild Card Play in Game on Wednesday, for the right to then play the Boston Red Sox, in what could be a rematch from the 2007 ALCS - when the club blew a 3 - 1 Series Advantage. It seems as if the Tribe might start Danny Salazar, a rookie - who is 2 - 3, with a 3.12 ERA in 10 Game Starts. The 23 Year Old has a sizzling stuff - and has not been seen much, which might be an advantage. Cleveland enters the playoffs on a 10 Game Winning Streak.

About chuckbooth3023

I played competitive baseball until 18 years old and had offers to play NCAA Division 1 University Baseball at Liberty University. Post-concussion symptoms from previous football and baseball head injuries forced me to retire by age 19. After two nearly made World Record Attempts in 2008, I set a New World Record by visiting all 30 MLB Parks (from 1st to last pitch) in only 24 Calendar Days in the summer 0f 2009. In April of 2012, I established yet another new GWR by visiting all 30 Parks in only 23 Calendar Days! You can see the full schedule at the page of the www.mlbreports.com/gwr-tracker
